Beat another Torre manager protege' tonight. (Forgot that Mazzilli is dumber than Torre)

Re: 39-37 winning streak???
Mon, June 27, 2005 - 8:52 PMTorre is still trying to find a lineup. Sure looks like Womack is on the way out. -

Re: 39-37 winning streak???
Tue, June 28, 2005 - 2:25 PMHate to say this but the time has come: just as Mickey and Dimaggio knew when it was time to come out of centerfield and not embarrass themselves in front of the fans, I hope Bernie sees the handwriting on the wall and begins the process of saying goodbye with class.
Maybe Bernie could learn to play 1B and give Jason and Tino some time to get well. This is a plan I wish Torre had explored in spring training.
Of course, in order to do this, the Yanks need a legitimate centerfielder. Just think of what they could get back in a trade if they could offer Giambi and Womack...if only their contracts wouldn't get in the way.
For the first time in a decade, things are not looking up for the Yanks and it's killing me. -

Re: 39-38 winning streak???
Wed, June 29, 2005 - 7:18 AMI'm ok with Womack in center. Just start him every day, hit him 9th.
Needless to say, we need pitching in the bullpin. I just hope that we do not trade our proven youth to get it. -

Re: 39-38 winning streak???
Thu, June 30, 2005 - 1:21 PMBye Bye Stanton and Quantrill...
Now, maybe Torre will allow Bubba to play center every day, and see what happens. He has never reeally given him a chance on a every day basis. -

Re: 39-38 winning streak???
Thu, June 30, 2005 - 9:52 PMThank jeebus! Finally, they get rid of some dead weight.
So now what to do with middle relief? -
-
Re: 39-38 winning streak???
Fri, July 1, 2005 - 7:27 AMGood moves! I hope this is a sign that we will not trade away our youth. Hopefully Franklin and Anderson can supply some relief. Torre needs to set the outfield consistantly. I like Womack starting everyday and hitting 9th. It would be cool to see Jr. Griffey out there but no one else interest me outside what we already have. -

Re: 39-39 winning streak???
Sat, July 2, 2005 - 11:06 AMHe is a complete waste of money, time, effort and most of all a total waste of the pride of the pinstripes!!!!!!!
Me thinks hes sabbotaging the Yankees single handedly.
I'm thinking there is some friction between him and Posada....notice the walk he took to the mound because there was some "confusion" in the pitching signals!!!!!
It was stated that he is normally teamed up with Flaherty....but Torre didn't want it to appear as favoritism.
Wonder who else is feeling friction with the BIG UniBOMB! -
-
Re: 39-39 winning streak???
Sat, July 2, 2005 - 3:51 PMUniBOMB, I love that! I notice that Womack is not in the lineup tonight. Seems to me that The Yanks need to generate some runs and Tony in the 9th hole is the answer. Obviously the Joe Joe's (you like that) don't have a solution yet. July Spring Training at it's best. -
-
Re: 40-39 winning streak???
Sat, July 2, 2005 - 8:31 PMGoodness Gracious, but Womack got the game winning hit!!! Shocked that Torre didn't use his boy Sierra to pinch hit, and to ground into the inning ending out. -

Re: 41-39 winning streak???
Sun, July 3, 2005 - 3:42 PMWhen do you think that the manager and pitching coach will realize that Wang is better than Jaret Wright??? -
-
Re: 41-39 winning streak???
Mon, July 4, 2005 - 10:08 AMWang has been our best starter all season. This kid keeps his cool and pitches out of trouble. I like what I see in this kid.
Let's see what Sturtze has today. -

Re: 41-39 winning streak???
Mon, July 4, 2005 - 10:49 AMwhen will the Joe Joe's realize that Womack needs to be in the lineup everyday? -
-
Re: 42-39 winning streak???
Mon, July 4, 2005 - 6:19 PMNow only 4 1/2 games behind the Sox, although Schilling should be back next week. -
-
Re: 43-39 winning streak???
Tue, July 5, 2005 - 3:24 PMOnly 3 1/2 games behind Boston, and Schilling got blasted last night in Pawtucket. -
-
Re: 43-39 winning streak???

Re: 46-40 winning streak???
Sun, July 10, 2005 - 3:21 PMOnly 2 1/2 games out. Francona is handling his pitchers like Torre, so it's only a matter of time!!! Mazzilli is a Torre clone, so it's only a matter of time!!!
