That the Yankees have not clinched yet! Stop looking ahead to the playoffs until you've clinched the division title!!! Try to win a few games first and then worry about October. If you had played your regulars this weekend it could have all been over with. Instead you are going to stay with pitchers too long ("to find out what we've got!) and use scrubinnis instead of your regulars. You could have wiped out the entire magic number by today and now it's going to take another week of winning to do it. Get a clue, Joe!

Re: Please tell Torre...
Sun, September 17, 2006 - 9:00 PMRight on with that! Any coincidence that Jeter looks bad and has his streak stopped after Torre ridiculously rests him for the first game of the doubleheader. Crap, there were times during the middle of the summer when Jeter was slumping and dying for a break and Torre kept running him out there. Now that they need a couple of key wins to clinch and Jeter has a 25-game hit streak going -- Torre gives him a game off!
Maybe Joe wasn't satisfied with the biggest choke in playoff history a couple of years ago. Does he want to add the biggest choke in regular season play too? They could have swept both games today if he just used his bullpen normally and had his regulars in both lineups. Why is TJ Beam and Sean Henn warming up in the 5th or 6th inning when Mussina is pitching and allowing only 2 runs?
And Mussina better get his act in gear and learn to throw 8 or 9 innings on a regular basis. What a wimp! -

Re: Please tell Torre...
Mon, September 18, 2006 - 4:31 PMAllan, the wimp is really Clueless Joe.
He has become so bad, that now, I don't even watch the games on TV. The moron is so predictable, that it's not funny. His "resting" the regulars now is pure idiocy!!! (Maybe, he wants Clueless Willie to clinch first??????) It's really a pity that the know-nothing reporters glorify Torre, when in reality, all he does is follow his "formula" every game. It's really sad when his "formula" is not working, because they show him in the dugout, trying to mthink, and he has a look on his face as though he is constipated.
With almost any other manager, the Yankees would have clinched the pennant over two weeks ago, as Torre's "formula" has cost them dozens of games. -

Re: Please tell Torre...
Mon, September 18, 2006 - 7:46 PMThe moron tried his best to lose tonight's game against Toronto. Doesn't he realize that he's burned out Villone's arm by overuse?? And, Dotel does not have his arm strength back, and he may never be the same pitcher as before the surgery. Naturally, he uses poor Scott Proctor every day. When will his arm give out??? Go read my earlier posts this season re Clueless Joe's misuse of bullpen pitchers. Torre is a menace!!! -
