Pros and Cons...

So far in 2006...

A lot of offense...at times. The starting rotation is still VERY questionable. Could age be a factor with Mussina and Johnson? And will Randy become whiney if he doesn't straighten out? Mussina does have age issues.

What about Wright, Pavano and Sturtze? With Wright and Sturtze, it's a question of confidence. Pavano, gad, get him well SOMETIME in this century?

Still worrying about that middle relief.

Giambi can be streaky, Cano has been putting up good numbers.
Jeter is Jeter. :)
Matsui will warm up.

A-Rod could be the lightning rod if things don't work out. If the Yankees stumble, not only A-Rod gets whipped upon, but Sheffield could become moody if the Yanks are out of it.

Johnny Damon has been solid, but poor Bubba Crosby...
Bernie SHOULD retire.

    1. Age issue with Moose? His stuff is the best that it has ever been and it's still early meaning that the summer months should bring out the best. We'll see.

BTW, Clueless Joe now looks semi-intelligent, when he sits next to Mazzilli, who is the only guy in Baseball dumber than him...

Contreras success is because he pitches at a faster pace, I mean he gets the ball and throws. A lost art of pitching fer sure.

Pro: Rivera should be ready for the stretch run and post season with all the huge leads the Yanks will have this year.

If they can't get Contreras, because he pitches too fast for Posada, how about trying to trade for Javier Vasquez, who is presently 4-1??? (Since they gave up Nick Johnson to get him the first time, what sort of dumb trade would they make now???)

Still early, but I'm not liking the way Randy's pitching...Chacon seems like he's getting better with each start, but we'll see what happens tonight!

But, that's why the season is a marathon - the best teams usually come to the top in the long run.
