Now that Matsui is back, and Clueless Joe is going to start using him in left field, what do you do with Melky Cabrera?? Without him, the Yankees would not have beat out Boston this season. He's the best defensive outfielder on the Yankees, and he always seems to get that clutch single or double to either drive in a run or start a rally. He' s presently batting 288 with 46 RBI's and 12 stolen bases. He is young, and with experience, he should only become much better.
(As an aside, the Phillies are proving to be a better team without Abreu, and Abreau is a below average fielder.)

Sun, September 17, 2006 - 8:56 PMThat's a problem for next year. Things may work themselves out either through retirements, injuries or a trade. Torre better concentrate on winning now instead of resting Matsui, Jeter, A-Rod, etc. They can all take a week off after (or IF!!) the Yanks clinch.
