Torre claims that the 25 man roster is set, so why should the rookies show up?

    ...because every year one or two veteran Yankees seems to age 5 years over the course of a winter. I'm particularly worried about firstbase and catcher this year.

        What is "elderly" for pitchers these days? When I was a kid, a pitcher was usually done at 32 or 33. Except for the miracle pitchers like Carlton, Ryan, etc. Can we expect 2 or 3 excellent years from Randy Johnson? Will Mussina ever turn in a 20 year season before he retires?

        When do you turn over the staff and start building around Chien-Ming Wang and the other youngsters instead of just using them as spare parts?
